Double Layered Green Berry Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favourite things to make. They are so easy and you can chuck whatever is in the fridge or cupboard and come up with something new every time. It is important to make sure you have a variety of ingredients in your smoothie like good fats, protein, fibre and nutrient dense fruit and veggies.

 

Recipe

Berry Layer

½ large frozen banana

½ cup mixed berries

1 tbsp coconut yoghurt

½ cup almond milk

 

Green Layer

½ large frozen banana

½ cup fresh spinach leaves

1 tbsp chia seeds

½ cup almond milk

 

Blend together and serve alone or layered!

 

Notes: feel free to use coconut water if you would prefer a fresher smoothie as opposed to a creamier one. Also coming into summer, frozen mango is another great substitute for frozen banana for a change.
